Features
• Easy-to-use Interface
MathMagic provides intuitive point-and-click interface to build equations. All the mathematical symbols have been organized for easy access, and they also can be easily integrated to customizable user palette.
MathMagic can build expressions of all kinds of currently available mathematical equations ranging from elementary school to graduate school.
• TeX Support
MathMagic supports import/export of TeX, the professional mathematical expression markup language, so you can publish high-class scientific articles, books, journals and courseware more easily. And you can reuse all the legacy contents widely as well. MathMagic also can easily convert between equations and TeX, offering convenient additional features for editing.
• Save As EPS
MathMagic can save your work as EPS format, giving you chances to take advantage of it with other graphics, presentation or DTP applications.
• Save As PICT
MathMagic also save your work as PICT format, so you can use it with other Macintosh applications such as wordprocessors or graphic applications.
• Includes PostScript Fonts as well as TrueType fonts
MathMagic offers specially designed TrueType equation symbol fonts for high accuracy. Also it comes with high-resolution PostScript fonts for professional desktop publishing. InfoLogic keeps working on designing new equation symbol font sets that will be offered to our registered customers at no additional charge. The PostScript fonts are now offered at free of charge.
• Customizable User Palette
MathMagic lets you create macros for commonly used expressions. It also supports another useful feature that lets you create your own palette with frequently used equations. These features let designers handle equations more easily and more quickly to get high productivity without any expense of time.
• Free MathMagic Viewer
MathMagic Viewer that lets QuarkXPress display and print documents with mathematical expressions created using MathMagic, is provided freely for you to send your works to any service bureau or other people who do not have MathMagic. It contains MathMagic TrueType & PostScript fonts.
• Multilingual Environment
MathMagic supports 2-bytes environment. It can be used with Korean, Japanese and Chinese versions of QuarkXPress as well as English version, giving you complete multilingual publishing environments. This East-Asian version is available separately though.
• Customizing service if needed

QuarkXPress 3.32, 4.0
At least 2MB of available memory
1.5MB of available hard disk space.
Floppy disk drive and CD-ROM drive for installation
• Installing MathMagic & MathMagic Viewer
See MathMagic User Guide for comprehensive instructions.
• MathMagic Files Installed
MathMagic Fonts in Fonts folder of the current System folder.
MathMagic XTension in the MathMagic folder of root directory.
Known Issues
• Memory Problem
MathMagic requires at least 2MB of available memory. This means the amount of memory is the default requirements. In case you're editing documents with dozens of pages with intensive mathematical expressions, you may need to increase the memory requirements of QuarkXPress.
To increase available memory of your QuarkXPress, choose Get Info in the File menu after selecting the QuarkXPress application icon. Basically Equations require very complex or recursive operations internally which need a lot of memory. If you need to build lots of mathematical expressions and edit dozens of pages per document file, we strongly recommend you to assign more memory as much as possible, for example, additional 10MB or more.
If you do not have enough memory, we recommend you to limit the number of equation boxes in a document, or the number of pages less than 10~20 pages by splitting into several document files. And if you still have insufficient memory alert, please quit your QuarkXPress and launch it again.
• Text to Box vs. Equation in QuarkXPress 4.x
MathMagic doesn't support the Text to Box feature of QuarkXPress 4.x
• Color Trapping
MathMagic supports color trapping for professional desktop publishing. Note that, only the default trap values of each color can be applied. You may not use customized values in the Trap Information palette. If you do need to apply color trapping, create another color, and then edit the trap values of the newly generated colors.
• Equations vs. Extensis QX-Effect
Equations created using MathMagic are not supported by Extensis QX-Effect.
